Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (2024)

date finished:4/4/24

OKAY SO FOR STARTERS if you couldnt tell from what i had written about ff7 on my favorite games page i REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REAAAALLLYYYY LOOOOOVE that game like A LOT.. but despite loving the original i was happy with the first of the ff7 remake games! a lot of people werent too keen on all of the differences/new stuff but i was pretty interested in seeing a different take on ff7!! i went into it with an open mind pretty much!! so having loved remake i was super looking forward to rebirth since it gets into some really fun parts of the original game and man. i was not disappointed!!!!

i really loved seeing all of these areas from the original game expanded on, sometimes it felt a bit overwhelming especially with how big the game is but i really enjoyed it so much i loooove being able to explore the world of ff7 to this extent!! but more importantly a big factor of how much i like ff7 is due to its characters.. the main party of ff7 is one of my favorite parties in any jrpg ;; i really love them so much and rebirth really nailed their character interactions.. so many of their interactions with one another made me smile like an idiot or tear up on occassion auuuu.. i really love seeing tifa and aerith's friendship (they are GIRLFRIENDS.... they are KISSING.... to me....) expanded upon, their bond is sooooo sweet and gives me yuri brain damage :,) i love them so much.. ALSO SEEING VINCENT IN THIS GAME LITERALLY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS REVERTING BACK TO MY HIGH SCHOOL SELF WHEN I WAS OBSESSED WITH HIM.. I NEED THAT GUY AND HIS TINY ASS WAIST... sorry... anyways another big plus for me is that im SOOOO GLAD they kept so much of the campiness in ff7 there were so many moments in rebirth where i was grinning ear to ear from how stupid (positive) the scene unfolding before me was.. this is the only time i will say it but thank you square enix... thank you for understanding the assignment....

ANYWAYS aside from all that i think the game is great i wont get into spoilers esp with everything that goes on in the end but it did have me scratching my head!! but at the same time it makes me really interested in seeing how they decide to approach things in the last game and how they wrap everything up.. they made some Interesting choices at the end of rebirth that im not complaining about im just like damn!!!! okay!!!! anyways game good it really delivered on all fronts for me and im really excited for part 3.. sorry if youre a remake hater i guess im just easy to please or whatever..

AI: The Somnium Files (2019)

date finished:12/26/23

i had been wanting to play this for a while bc a lot of my friends were super into it and were hyping it up for me SO i finally bit the bullet and played it! i think overall it was pretty good! i personally feel like i had my expectations a bit too high since a lot of people had been hyping it up for me so i think that made me have much higher expectations for it, but that isn't to say that it didn't like it or anything like that! i think it's a pretty good game!! i thought date was a really fun protag and as someone who loves pathetic men like him i couldnt get enough of him, especially whenever aiba or mizuki would give him a hard time LOL i really loved his relationships with both of them, especially mizuki!! i thought their father/daughter relationship was really sweet.. despite all the teasing and bickering they care about each other so much.. auu...

anyways i think the game's biggest strengths are its characters and i was super surprised to find myself getting emotional while doing the mental lock for a completely unexpected character (i won't say who in case of spoilers but it hit a bit too close to home for me @__@) this game delivered super hard on the classic bizarre uchikoshi twist, i literally had to write something on a sticky note in order to make the twist make sense to me LOL it was a fun experience and i definitely recommend it if you're a fan of uchikoshi's works like 999!

Marco and the Galaxy Dragon (2020)

date finished: 10/29/23

okay so this was recommended to me and i did enjoy it but while i was reading through it i got busy and kinda put it on a pause for a while and when i got back to it it was one of those things where you come back to a game after a lot happened in it and you cant remember the exact details of what happened so you have to slowly piece everything back together like. how this shit go again? so i feel like me being confused partway thru bc i forgot what happened might have impacted my enjoyment of it but overall i liked it! its a short and sweet vn and the amount of work put into it actually shocked me.. like theres so many cgs in this game its actually really impressive and theres multiple aniamted cutscenes that are actually animated really well?? i was so surprised LOL.. it definitely has a lot of love put into it!

i recommend giving it a read if you want a fun and short little vn to read.. the characters in this were really fun and while the plot isnt exactly something to write home about i still found myself enjoying my time with it quite a bit!

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon (2023)

date finished:10/26/23

i've never played an armored core game before, so this was my first one! i was a little on the fence about getting this at first but after watching some footage and hearing how good it is from some friends i decided to give it a shot and im glad i did!!!! i really enjoyed this game so much, as a mech enjoyer it felt great to play as one and making a build that focused on mobility made it feel extra great i just loved being able to jump so high and nyoom around as much as i pleased LOL i really want to make an asssortment of different builds if i ever decide to revisit the game because half of the fun of the game is messing around with builds and frakensteining mechs together until you find something you like.. it feels really satisfying!

aside from the mech building tho the gameplay itself was super fun.. its a fromsoft game so it felt pretty difficult at times and i felt like biting my controller every now and then but despite that i had an amazing time with it! i think its definitely up there next to sekiro as one of my favorite fromsoft games.. it jsut felt so good to play i dont really know how else to explain it. also i really liked the plot in this too.. i felt like i really cared about some of these characters which shocked me bc i usually dont find myself caring about characters in fromsoft games very much but here i definitely did and it paid off i feel. the way you end up caring for them without you ever actually seeing them is so effective.. really great stuff!

i got the liberator of rubicon ending for my first run and i decided to stop there bc as much as i loved the game i wanted to move onto something else LOL but i do plan on revisiting it in the future to get the other endings!! i really enjoyed this game a lot!!
